Protecting the road ahead since 1929.

Zoom in on the background of this archival photograph, and you’ll find a piece of our history: a Russell distributor truck helping a local crew tackle a chip seal project (chipping by hand!) on Spring Run Road back in April 1948.

Early field applications like the manual tar-and-chip operation pictured here laid the groundwork for the advanced asphalt materials we manufacture and apply today.

The most expensive road repair is the one that happens too late.

The asphalt deterioration curve tells the story: pavement deteriorates slowly at first, then declines rapidly once cracks and water infiltration take hold. Waiting until a road "looks bad" often means missing the opportunity for cost-effective preservation.
