This summer, our Operations and Maintenance interns will gain experience supporting the equipment, facilities, and field operations that keep our business moving. From learning about preventive maintenance and fleet management to supporting daily operations across our network, they'll develop valuable skills while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

What is a fog seal?

Think of it as sunscreen for asphalt. A fog seal is a light application of asphalt emulsion that helps protect pavement from oxidation, moisture intrusion, and aggregate loss before more significant deterioration occurs.

When applied with GSB-88, the treatment helps replenish oils and resins lost through aging while sealing and protecting the surface. It's a simple, cost-effective way to slow pavement deterioration and extend pavement life. In this photo, you can see the untreated road on the left and the treated road on the right. What a difference!

But the product is only part of the equation. At Russell Standard, our experienced preservation crews are experts in proper application rates, timing, and field conditions, ensuring every treatment delivers long-term value for our customers.

The best time to preserve a road is before major problems appear.

Russell Standard is seeking a Pugmill Operator to join our Pavement Preservation team in our Fayetteville, PA, location.

What you'll bring:
✔ 2+ years of asphalt machinery experience
✔ Valid driver's license
✔ Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card and Flagger Certification
✔ CDL Class A or B is a plus

What you'll do:
• Operate pugmill and asphalt mixing equipment
• Load, haul, and unload equipment and materials
• Perform equipment inspections and maintenance
• Support paving and pavement preservation crews as needed

What to expect:
📍 Up to 60% travel, including overnight stays
🚜 Variety of work across multiple job sites
🦺 Safety-focused team
💲 $50/ hour while operating the machine; all other hours worked are paid at the base hourly rate
