🏡 PROJECT OF THE WEEK! | Double the Accessibility!

This week, we're showing off not one, but TWO custom curved Bruno stairlift systems installed at the same home!

Our crew installed a Bruno outdoor curved stairlift to help the homeowner safely navigate their front entrance, along with a Bruno indoor curved stairlift to make accessing the upper level of their home easier than ever.

What makes these projects unique? Both stairlifts were custom-designed to fit the home's existing layout.

🔹 Outside: A custom rail that follows the front steps and provides convenient access from the sidewalk to the front porch.

🔹 Inside: A beautifully designed curved rail that wraps around the existing staircase and wooden newel post, making the most of the available space.

It's projects like these that remind us why we do what we do. Helping people continue to enjoy their homes safely and independently is what it's all about!

🏆 WE WON! ACCESS BDD’S INSTALL OF THE MONTH! 🏆

Remember those two custom Flow X stairlifts we shared a few weeks ago? Well, we’ve got some pretty cool news!

101 Mobility of Pittsburgh was selected as Access BDD’s September Install of the Month! 🎉

This project involved two custom curved stairlifts, each designed around the unique layout of the home’s staircases. The goal was simple - improve accessibility while keeping the installation as clean, compact, and unobtrusive as possible.

And apparently, Access BDD thought our guys did a pretty good job, too!

👏 A huge shoutout to Tyler, Gabe, and Scott, who handled this installation. We have a great group of guys here at 101 Mobility, and it’s always rewarding to see their craftsmanship and attention to detail recognized.

A big thank-you to Access BDD for the recognition and for continuing to provide innovative accessibility solutions that allow us to tackle challenging projects like this one.

Another one wrapped up in West Mifflin, PA!

Our team installed two Bruno Elan 5000 stairlift systems to provide safe access throughout multiple levels of this home.

One of the staircases also required a power folding rail, allowing the bottom section of the rail to automatically fold up and out of the way when the lift isn’t being used.

This keeps the walkway clear and eliminates a potential tripping hazard at the bottom of the stairs.

Sometimes it’s the little details that make the biggest difference. 👍

Another unique staircase, another custom accessibility solution. 👏

This week’s project features a Harmar OTO curved stairlift, custom designed to follow the exact layout of this staircase from the lower level all the way to the upper landing.

With multiple turns, tight clearances, and limited space at both landings, a standard straight stairlift simply wasn’t an option. The OTO system allowed us to create a rail specifically for the home while keeping the finished installation clean, compact, and out of the way.

The result is a safe and comfortable way for our client to access every level of their home without having to change the character of the staircase.

Custom staircases are exactly why having multiple stairlift options matters. There isn’t always a one-size-fits-all solution — sometimes it takes the right product, a good plan, and an experienced installation team.

🏠 Project of the Week - Elizabeth, PA

For this week’s project, our team headed to Elizabeth, PA, where our client was struggling to safely navigate the front steps and get in and out of their home.

With the layout of the staircase and upper landing, a standard straight stairlift wasn’t an option. Our solution was a Bruno Outdoor Elite Curved Stairlift, custom designed and manufactured specifically for this staircase.

The curved rail follows the existing steps and transitions onto the upper porch, allowing the user to safely ride from sidewalk level all the way to the entrance of the home.

Projects like this are a great example of why accessibility isn’t always one-size-fits-all. Sometimes it takes a custom solution to overcome a difficult entrance and help someone regain their independence at home.

🇺🇸 Another Veteran’s home made more accessible!

Our 101 Mobility of Pittsburgh team recently completed this modular wheelchair ramp installation for a Veteran in Perryopolis, PA.

With the height of the front porch and the layout of the property, this project required a longer ramp system with a turning platform to create a safe, comfortable path from the home to ground level.

These are the projects that mean a little extra to our team. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Veterans throughout Western Pennsylvania and help provide solutions that allow them to safely and independently access their homes.

JOB OF THE WEEK 🏠

This week’s project was a fun one - two custom Access BDD Flow X curved stairlifts installed in the same home.

Both staircases had their own challenges, including tight landings and limited space for the lifts to park without interfering with the normal use of the stairs.

Our team designed each Flow X specifically for the space, utilizing custom bends and parking positions to get the chairs off the staircase when not in use while keeping the finished installation as clean and compact as possible.

That’s one of our favorite things about the Flow X - when you have a difficult staircase, there are a lot of options for designing the rail around the home rather than forcing the home to work around the stairlift.

Big shoutout to Tyler, Gabe and Scott for the installation and attention to detail on this one. Great work, guys!

Another home elevator project wrapped up - this one in Erie, PA!
Our team recently completed this residential elevator installation, giving the homeowners an easy way to move between floors while keeping the finished product looking like it belongs in the home.
Projects like this are a good reminder that home elevators aren’t just for new construction. With the right planning, there are often ways to incorporate an elevator into an existing home without completely changing the look and feel of the space.
And yes - we travel! Our Pittsburgh team regularly handles elevator and accessibility projects throughout Western Pennsylvania, including the Erie area.

🇺🇸 Creating a safer way home for a local veteran.

Take a look at the before and after on this recent accessibility project completed by our team.

The existing entrance required navigating multiple sets of stairs between the driveway and the home’s elevated porch - creating a significant barrier for our client.

Our team designed a solution that combined a Harmar Vertical Platform Lift with a modular aluminum ramp system, utilizing the existing porch while creating a completely accessible route from the driveway to the entrance of the home.

This is a great example of what we do every day. Sometimes a stairlift, ramp, or vertical platform lift by itself isn’t enough. Every home is different, and our job is to figure out how to combine the right solutions to make the entire space work for the person who lives there.

We’re always grateful for the opportunity to serve our local veterans and help make their homes safer and more accessible.
