Back when supply companies distributed mill finish coil, the supply company would write the contractor’s name on the coil. When delivered, you bent that coil into flashings and valleys. 30 years after installing that 3-tab shingle roof, you need to replace it.
I get the privilege of tearing off a roof I never knew my father installed only to find his name on the bottom of one of the old valleys. This actually happens a few times a year.
It makes me happy to know that I’m continuing to do what my father did so well.
