🍂 September is here, which means it’s a great time to check your outdoor faucets! 🍁

Before the temperature starts dropping, take a few minutes to inspect your outdoor spigots for drips, leaks or damaged connections. A small leak now can turn into a bigger plumbing problem once freezing temperatures arrive.

💡 Tip: Make sure garden hoses are disconnected from outdoor faucets before the first freeze. Leaving a hose connected can trap water in the line & potentially lead to damage.

A little prevention now can save you from a plumbing headache later! 🛠️

☀️ FACT CHECK FRIDAY! 🌡️

❌ MYTH: The hottest part of the day is at noon, when the sun is at its highest.

✅ FACT: The hottest part of the day is usually later in the afternoon, not exactly at noon!

Why? Even after the sun reaches its highest point, the ground continues absorbing more heat than it’s losing. That heat keeps building for a few more hours, which is why temperatures typically peak in the afternoon.

So if your AC seems to be working its hardest in the afternoon, there’s a reason!

We’re so close to the weekend! 🎉

Will today bring another humid scorcher like we’ve experienced so much of this summer, or will we get a few more perfectly cool summer days like we had at the beginning of the week?

Late summer weather can be a little unpredictable here in Pittsburgh! One day it’s hot enough that your AC is working overtime & the next day it’s cool & comfortable enough to open the windows.

☀️ When it’s hot: Keep your AC running & stay cool!

🍃 When it’s cool & comfortable: Turn the AC off, open the windows & let Mother Nature cool your home!

Taking advantage of those cooler days can give your air conditioner a little break & help save on energy, too. Just remember to close the windows before the heat & humidity return!

🏗️ A BIG HVAC JOB IN THE HEART OF PITTSBURGH’S EAST END! 🏙️

Here we are removing two old rooftop package units, along with old, leaking ductwork.

Our team rigged & lifted the old units off the roof & brought in a new rooftop unit. We also reconfigured the ductwork to simplify the system & provide better airflow & performance.

A lot of planning, teamwork & some serious rigging went into this one!

🔧❄️ TECHNICIAN TIP TUESDAY! ❄️🔧

Do you run your indoor fan in the “ON” or “AUTO” position when your A/C is cooling? 🤔

Here’s a tip from our technicians:
🌬️ Running your fan in the “ON” position can help circulate air more consistently throughout your home, which may help eliminate those pesky hot & cold spots, especially in two story homes!

💧 BUT… when humidity is high, switch that fan back to “AUTO.”
When your fan runs continuously during periods of high outdoor humidity, it can cause your indoor humidity level to stay higher than what’s comfortable.

🏠 The ideal indoor humidity level is generally around 45%–55%.
It’s normal for humidity levels to occasionally go above that range, especially when we have several hot, humid days in a row. But if your home starts feeling damp or muggy, AUTO is the way to go!
