The first day of fall means cozy season is here, and this piece can have its moment. This Western Red Cedar sauna, built by hand by the SDBA crew, is in place in the spa of a luxury resort in the Laurel Highlands.

Our annual company golf outing at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club started civilized enough. 😇🏌️

Twenty-five years ago, our country changed in a single morning. Patriot Day asks us to pause and remember what was lost, and to honor the first responders and service members who ran toward it.

SDBA is proud to honor the brave men and women who show up for their communities every day. Today we're thinking of the first responders, veterans, and neighbors who define what that means here in Pittsburgh and beyond.

Take a moment today to remember.
Never forget. Always grateful.

A quick look at what kept the SDBA plant moving in August: custom curves, casework, solid surface, CNC work, finishing, and a team bringing it all together.

A finished space rarely shows just how much happens behind the scenes, including some fun along the way.

That’s a wrap on August!

Very satisfying machinery is only part of what Casey and Tyler are finding at IWF Atlanta.

They’re exploring new materials, hardware, and equipment, connecting with industry friends, and learning about ideas that could improve precision, consistency, efficiency, and durability on future projects.

The goal is simple: understand what’s possible, bring the right ideas home, and use them to build better.

And yes, Casey could probably watch this machine all day.

Rain had other plans for the CREDA Pgh Golf Outing at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course. But this is Pittsburgh, so we adjusted and the day went on anyway. Good company made up for the weather. Proud to serve as Breakfast Sponsor and spend the day with the developers, brokers, and GCs who keep this region building.

Soggy greens, great company, a day worth showing up for.

Thanks to CREDA Pittsburgh for hosting, and to this year's fellow sponsors.

When Karl, one of our journeyman carpenters, and his family visited the Carnegie Museum of Art, they came across a familiar piece: a bench he built for the 59th Carnegie International Exhibition.

His daughter Maggie, age 3, put it to immediate use as a slide.

A fun moment for Karl to see his work in place, and for Maggie to experience it in her own way.

There’s a lot that happens before architectural millwork reaches the finished space.

Shop drawings. 3D modeling. Fabrication. Coordination. Installation.

This multifamily amenity project is a great example of the process behind the finished product.

Have an upcoming project with a complex millwork package? We’d love to be part of the conversation.

Architect: Strada
General Contractor: Franjo Construction

Pittsburgh Restaurant Week is one of our favorite reminders that hospitality is about more than the meal. It is the people, the atmosphere, and the spaces that make you want to stay a little longer.

We are grateful to work alongside Pittsburgh’s architects, contractors, and hospitality teams, contributing architectural millwork to places that become part of the city’s dining experience.

What reservation are you most excited about this week?
