This piping was for a residential homes vent through the roof. This is my third time back to this house for various issues. The new homeowner is paying the price for shoddy work done by a “flipper “. If you find yourself in the market and are looking at homes and know that it is a “flip job “make sure you attempt to look at everything.
Rarely do you see a vent pipe leaking at a joint. But this joint was made with incompatible materials and barely connected. the black ABS pipe sat inside the white PVC pipe a 1/4 inch in the hub.

Customer called with water running from an unknown location. Found that the shower drain was installed improperly and the branch had tons of back fall. Anytime the shower, kitchen or bathroom sink was used the waste water would come back to the shower shower trap and run across the basement floor. Busted up the concrete and dug down to the underground pipe to re-do a new drain to serve the fixtures.

Busted cast iron fl**ge replaced with some new PVC fittings and new fl**ge.

I realized that I haven’t posted anything lately. So here’s 2 photos of a whole house 3 stage filter system I did. The photo on the left is the initial install. On the right is the same install 4 months later. Note the clear cartridge sediment filter on the right side. The sediment filter is the first filter in the 3 stages system. You can see how much sediment alone is being removed from the city water. This is a house in the city of Pittsburgh.
