Quick electrician tool tip ⚡

Using the Klein Tools Grip It to tighten PVC connectors makes the job faster, cleaner, and a lot easier on your hands. Definitely one of those simple tools that earns a permanent spot in the bag.

What’s one underrated tool you use every day as an electrician?

After running Milwaukee Packout for a while, I decided to switch over to the Klein MODbox system.

There’s things I still like about Packout, but MODbox has some features that fit my day-to-day electrical work better.

I know this is a hot topic in the trades right now, so I want honest opinions:

* Which system are you running?
* What made you choose it?
* Would you switch?

Let’s hear the pros and cons from both sides.

There’s just something satisfying about cleaning up an electrical panel. ⚡

Watch this panel transformation from start to finish as everything gets organized, cleaned up, and brought together professionally. The small details make a huge difference in electrical work.

Blue-collar craftsmanship at its finest.

Clean conductors. Clean install. Clean reputation. ⚡️
Quick little trick I use to make the conductor look neat and professional. It’s the small things customers and inspectors notice.

Read the Label Before Assuming It’s Service Equipment

Many assume any outside disconnect is automatically the service equipment.

Not always.

This disconnect is labeled:

Emergency Disconnect, Not Service Equipment

Used to satisfy NEC 230.85 while service equipment is inside.

This is why labels, listings, and code details matter.

This might be the easiest 100 amp service install I’ve done ⚡️

Full install from meter base to panel — everything clean, labeled, and up to current NEC requirements.

✔️ PVC riser & weatherhead
✔️ Emergency disconnect (NEC 230.85)
✔️ Proper grounding system
✔️ Clean panel terminations
✔️ Temporary GFCI power installed

Ready for inspection the first time.

One of the easiest ways to protect a customer’s home…

Ladder boots.

They prevent scratches, dents, and marks on floors and walls while we’re working.

It’s a small detail—but it’s part of doing the job right.

If you’re having work done in your home, make sure your contractor is thinking about this kind of stuff 👍

Clean bathroom rough-in done right.

Used a fish stick to reach the second floor and pulled the wiring straight down to the basement—no unnecessary holes and no guesswork.

Fed from the load side of the GFCI to keep everything protected and ran a dedicated switch leg for the vanity light.

Most of the job comes down to planning before you ever pull wire.
