Hey, Anoka County Master Gardeners have named Blue False Indigo "Plant of the Week". Here is more information about the plant. AND, you can go see it live at the Pine City MN Discovery Garden.

Blue Wild Indigo is a hardy native that thrives in Zones 3-9. It grows best in full sun and well-drained soil, and once its deep taproot is established, it can handle drought. Its rich blue blossoms were once used to create dyes (a cheaper stand-in for true Indigo). It has taken a few years for the False Blue Indigo to establish; and it has been worth the wait. There are several locations of the plant at the Pine City Discovery Garden. Come walk the paved path or the Creeping Thyme skipping path and enjoy the late spring/early summer flowers!
