As promised, it’s finally time for a little update on my watering disaster situation from a few weeks ago! While not everything is perfect, not all hope is lost! The mango tree is making a comeback people! Now that my mango tree has had a NDE, I wonder what stories it would tell 😂

Calling all my fellow basic b’s! Fall has arrived at World Market !! All this pumpkin decor has me absolutely stoked for fall to be here.

On top of those, I found some more garden inspired dishes for the greenhouse kitchen on the clearance shelf!!! For those of you who are new, I love me a good garden inspired! You know all those dishes your grandma collected? Yeah. That’s my jam!

Today we had a record breaking high of 117 degrees!!! Gardening here during the summer isn’t for the feint of heart, but good news, there is only like 2 months left of summer 😅!

Summer vacation 2026 was a major success! Big Bear always has us leaving with smiles on our faces, our tummies full of good food, and stories to tell for months to come! Coming here from Phoenix during the summer is a good reminder for me as a gardener that things will cool down and we can have beautiful plants again soon. Which if we’re being honest, is a much needed thing sometimes!

Come along with me as I feed squash bugs to my carnivorous plants! I have a Venus fly trap and a bunch of young pitcher plants that need to be fed, and coincidentally I have a surplus of squash bugs! Don’t worry, the squash bugs were not poisoned, I torch them! They are perfectly safe for the plants 🌱!

As a kid I always thought Petey Piranha was cool, and now I feel like I have him in real life! And for you carnivorous plant lovers out there; I am very new to them, so if I did something wrong please tell me!
