This is why patio floors are tricky. Most people don’t want to see the expansion joint. They want it perfect, seamless. But concrete expands and contracts, that’s physics, not a choice.
This travertine cracked because grout or tile can’t handle that movement. The crack went straight through. The real fix: crack isolation + half inch silicone joint. Silicone moves with the concrete.
