I’m going to be a little more vulnerable than I usually like to be.
The truth is… things are hard right now.
I could put on a smile, post the pretty pictures, promote our drinks, and pretend that running a small business is all sunshine and success. But that wouldn’t be real. And one thing I’ve always promised myself is that I would be honest about this journey..the good, the bad, and the really hard days too.
We’re coming out of our slowest month to date since we started.
Between the extreme heat and health reasons, this month has hit us harder than we ever expected. When it’s consistently over 110°, getting out and setting up just isn’t always safe or realistic, and when you’re a small business that relies heavily on being out in the community, the weather can truly make or break your month.
Today is showing the first day under 105°.
And honestly? We’re trying to figure it out.
But we’re trying to figure it out by working.
Not by asking for handouts.
By making the drinks.
By taking the orders.
By showing up.
By finding workplaces, groups, families, and customers who will give us the opportunity to earn their business.
So, for the next 48 hours, we have one big goal:
229 drinks.
229 lemonades and dirty sodas.
When I look at that number, I’ll be honest… it’s scary. It feels big. It feels overwhelming.
But then I remind myself why we started.
We’ve never been afraid of hard work. We’ve shown up in the heat, worked long days, packed and unpacked more times than I can count, and kept going even when things didn’t go the way we planned.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to do now.
We’re going to work.

I know not everyone is in a position to order, and I completely understand that. But sharing this post or helping us get in front of the right people can make a bigger difference than you realize.
I’m not sharing this because I want anyone to feel sorry for us.
I’m sharing it because sometimes being honest is better than pretending everything is okay.
We’re a small business trying to navigate a really hard season and figure it out the best way we know how:
By working our asses off.
