Honored to have the U.S. Consulate General Hermosillo recognized with an IIDA Southwest Award of Merit in the Public Facility category. We are grateful to the U.S. Department of State and to our collaborators, consultants, and construction partners for making this recognition possible. The project is also recently certified LEED Gold, reflecting an integrated approach to design performance, resilience, and occupant well-being.

From the Judges: “The faceted ceiling and exterior panels are highlighted in a playful, expressive way throughout the space, reinforcing the project’s unique character.”

Centered around a light-filled atrium, the interior is designed to feel clear, calm, and welcoming while supporting the building’s security needs. Warm wood, sculpted ceilings, and carefully shaped spaces guide movement and bring in natural light. A striking stair and integrated artwork—including a mural that anchors the main gallery—create moments of connection, tying the architecture to the surrounding community and sense of place.

Honored to have the Honor Wall Memorial recognized with an Design Excellence Award in the Single Space category. Developed in close collaboration with the the project is conceived as a place of reflection and a beacon of light—using material restraint, illumination, and craft to express honor, sacrifice, and tradition in a timeless architectural composition.
