Steel beam and lagging has been used for more than 100 years, as it is often the most viable option compared to other shoring systems when unique factors such as PL/ROW requirements and utility conflicts are present. Steel beams are available in various sizes and shapes, installed by either open-hole drilling or pile driving, although the latter is rarely performed in Arizona. Lagging refers to the systematic installation of wood planks/boards between the beams, ensuring soil retention.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•Ensure the safety of Heavy Equipment Traffic along with the public
•Communicate clearly with other flaggers and operators
•Wear and use correct PPE and flagging devices to ensure signaling is visible and directions are clear to those you are portraying to.
•Ability to think clearly and focus on surroundings

REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to stand in place for extended periods of time
•Able to work outdoors in various types of weather and temperature
•Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
•Strong work ethic
•Self-motivated
