This main panel upgrade in Scottsdale took one day and came in at just over $5,000.

The home was built in the ’80s and still had its original Crouse Hinds Murray panel. The homeowners are remodeling their kitchen and adding several new circuits, so we wanted to address the existing panel before putting more demand on it. With concerns about the aging main breaker and the additional electrical load, we recommended a replacement as part of the remodel.

We were able to keep the existing riser, and Vale City Electric handled all the permits and coordination with the local utility. The panel upgrade is complete, and we’re still working on the kitchen electrical as the remodel moves along.

We completed this 200 amp main panel upgrade and breaker box replacement in South Phoenix in one day. The $5,000+ project was necessary because the home’s main breaker kept failing.

Many homeowners ask whether a main panel upgrade will leave them without power for several days. For a straightforward panel replacement, the answer is no. Our Phoenix electricians coordinate the utility disconnect, installation, inspection, and reconnection to restore power the same day.

In some cases, power is restored as early as 11:00 a.m. More commonly, it is back on between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., so the home is not left without electricity overnight.

Main panel upgrade in West Phoenix with a new 200 amp electrical panel and Level 2 Tesla EV charging station installed in the same visit. This 200 amp panel upgrade gave the homeowner an updated electrical service and a dedicated EV charging station about 20 feet away on the same wall.

The customer chose to replace the existing panel because of its age, but this project went beyond simply swapping out the breaker box.

We replaced the underground service pipe carrying the incoming electrical wires, cut the concrete to access the underground service, repaired the concrete when we were finished, removed the damaged stucco around the panel, and completed the stucco repair as part of the installation.

We also installed a Tesla wall mount charging station with a clean conduit run from the new panel.

We responded to a massive failure late last night for a customer who was left in the dark. We went out immediately to secure the situation, and by this morning, the team at Vale City Electric had replaced the entire system. The cause of the outage was an outdated Zinsco electrical panel.

Zinsco panels are known to fail under load and have been outlawed due to the severe safety hazards they present. What many homeowners do not realize is how insurance companies view them. If an inspector sees a Zinsco panel on your property, your provider might drop your coverage completely or raise your premium by up to six times.
