Early last week, Sun Valley Masonry partnered with the Texas Masonry Council and Dee Brown, Inc. for a hands-on masonry event hosted by Montgomery ISD!

Students from freshmen to seniors learned the basics of masonry and got a firsthand look at the skilled trades. Special thanks to Mustang Metal for joining us!

September is Su***de Prevention Month, and it hits close to home for our industry. Construction has the highest su***de rate of any occupation, and most of us know someone it has touched.

This year, Sun Valley took the STAND Up Pledge with the Construction Industry Alliance for Su***de Prevention. It's a commitment to treat mental health the same way we treat safety on the jobsite, and here's what it means for our team:

Safe: No one should feel like they have to keep it to themselves. If you're struggling, or worried about someone on your crew, it's okay to speak up.

Training: We're making su***de prevention training available so everyone knows the warning signs and how to help.

Awareness: We'll keep this conversation going in safety meetings and toolbox talks all year long.

Normalize: Talking about mental health shouldn't be awkward. The more we talk about it, the easier it gets to reach out.

Decrease: Everyone on our team should know where to turn, from our EAP to crisis support.

Check on your crew. It might be the most important thing you do all week.

Today, 25 years later, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroes who answered the call, and the families forever changed. Their memory remains with us. We will never forget.

We had a great day yesterday with Michael Crain of Predictive Wins at Chateau Luxe, filled with meaningful conversation, fresh perspective, and plenty of great takeaways that gave our team new ideas and insights to continue building on.

We’re making great progress out at our Midland High School project! We’re just a couple of weeks away from starting the brickwork and are excited to see the next phase take shape. A huge thank you to our crews for all their hard work and dedication to keeping this project moving forward.

Sun Valley is making great progress at Cascia Hall Preparatory School in Tulsa, where we’re working on the school’s new STEM building.

This project is especially unique because we’re creating something new while carefully matching the character and craftsmanship of the existing buildings across the 100-year-old campus.

Great work by our incredible team on site. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail are showing every step of the way.
