Today, we remember the man who started it all; our Founder, Claude W. Amerson.
Claude’s story in construction began in 1958, when he was just 17 years old and working as an Apprentice Carpenter in Los Angeles. He probably couldn’t have imagined then where that first job would eventually lead or how many lives would be impacted by what he would go on to build.
After moving his young family to Arizona, Claude helped establish T-P Acoustics Arizona in 1970. Like most companies in their early days, it started with hard work, long hours, some calculated risks, and a belief that if you surrounded yourself with good people and treated them right, you could build something that lasted.
That belief in people became one of the foundations of T-P Acoustics.
Claude knew this company was never just about ceilings and walls. It was about the people doing the work. It was about relationships, trust, keeping your word, taking pride in your craft, and giving people an opportunity to build a good life for themselves and their families.
More than 55 years later, those values are still very much a part of who we are.
You can see Claude’s legacy in the employees who have spent decades of their lives here. You can see it in the friendships that have been built along the way, in the families supported by this company, and in the generations who have followed in his footsteps.
When Claude passed away in July 2024, we lost much more than the founder of T-P Acoustics.
We lost a father and grandfather, a mentor, and a leader. A man who gave a tremendous amount of his life to building something that would outlive him. And that may be the best way to describe Claude’s legacy.
He built something that lasted. Not just a company or a list of projects; he built relationships, he built careers, and he built a family within this company.
Today, T-P Acoustics looks very different than it did when Claude first started. We’ve grown, the industry has changed, and new generations have taken on the responsibility of leading us forward. We are proud of where T-P Acoustics is today, but we will never forget where we came from or the man who gave us our beginning.
In loving memory of Claude W. Amerson.
