# # 🚨 SCAM ALERT: Watch out for "Engagement Bait" profiles! 🚨
If you see a post in your feed asking an innocent question to get people talking, check the profile before you comment!
Scammers are flooding Facebook right now using a specific playbook:
* The Profile: An attractive person (often a 30ish woman).
* The Date: A brand new account created just recently.
* The Bait: A generic question to get a lot of comments (e.g., "What was your first concert?" or "Am I the only one who...?").
Why do they do this?
Once a post gets thousands of comments, the scammer edits the original text to include phishing links, fake shopping websites, or malware. Anyone who comments also gets targeted with scam private messages.
What to do:
1. Do NOT comment or react—even a "like" pushes it into more feeds.
2. Click the 3 dots on the post.
3. Report it as Spam/Scam and block the profile.
Stay safe and don't take the bait! 🛑
