What once served as a thrift store giving new life to old items has now taken on a transformative life of its own. On October 7th, Arizona’s most influential community leaders, healthcare partners, and educators gathered in Mesa to officially dedicate the new St. Vincent de Paul East Valley Medical Clinic, with Willmeng serving as the general contractor.

The project renovated the building down to its shell to transform the space into 18 new exam rooms and expanded facilities, creating a primary clinical teaching site where students and residents from Creighton University, Arizona State University, and Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine will learn alongside experienced clinicians. As Mayo Clinic CEO Dr. Richard Gray shared during the dedication, "When all people bring their gifts together in service to others, it is truly inspiring."
Emphasizing the importance of community-driven action to address regional healthcare needs, ASU President Dr. Michael Crow shared during the ceremony, "It's incumbent upon us to not wait for the government to solve this or to solve that. It's incumbent upon us to figure out how we're going to solve it. St. Vincent de Paul is the kind of organization that steps up and makes things happen."

Reflecting on the incredible collective effort behind this milestone, Willmeng Senior Vice President Chris Brown shared, "A project like this takes a lot of people pulling in the same direction. You can always spot the high performers in a community by the transformative projects they deliver with the greater community in mind, and that is exactly what is happening here. Standing behind St. Vincent de Paul are Mayo Clinic, ASU, and Creighton University, and we are grateful for that partnership."

For Willmeng, being part of a project that changes lives in such a meaningful way is an honor that goes far beyond construction, true to our mission of Building a Genuine Place of Purpose. To help St. Vincent de Paul welcome and care for their very first patients, Willmeng was grateful for the opportunity to present a $200,000 check during the ceremony in support of their ongoing mission. James Murphy CEO, stated, “Working closely with St. Vincent de Paul across consecutive projects, our team has witnessed firsthand their unmatched devotion to the community. They pour their hearts into their mission and we are deeply honored to be a part of the difference they make in the community.”

Progress is moving fast in Phoenix.

We are proud to partner with Formation on an exciting ground-up development bringing four new spec industrial warehouse buildings to the Phoenix market.
The project transformed the site by clearing eight existing structures to make way for 428,000 SF of modern tilt-up space featuring 32' clear heights, positioned just 15 minutes from major tech hubs like TSMC.

Collaborating with the team at Formation has been a fantastic experience from day one. Our crews are hard at work putting the finishing touches on site as we wrap up the final phases of construction.

Safer buildings start with shared understanding.

The Arizona Building Officials (AZBO) Fall Institute brought together 798 attendees representing dozens of jurisdictions from across the state for four days of continuing education and collaboration. Building officials, contractors, engineers, consultants, and design professionals gathered to improve consistency in code interpretation and application, helping create safer buildings and stronger communities across Arizona.

We were proud to support this important event, and our team loved catching up with our friends from the City of Phoenix, including Mike Ornoski, Team Leader in the Planning & Development Department and an AZBO course instructor. Mike shared how encouraged he is by the expanding engagement in AZBO from general contractors like Willmeng, subcontractors, and designers coming together to connect and learn alongside building officials.

What was once an underutilized storage space has been completely transformed into a state-of-the-art hub for Arizona’s defense and advanced manufacturing workforce.

We were honored to join Governor Katie Hobbs, the Arizona Commerce Authority, and Maricopa Community Colleges to celebrate the grand opening of the new $6.4M Aerospace & Defense Future48 Workforce Accelerator at Chandler-Gilbert Community College’s Williams Campus.

Designed in direct partnership with defense leaders like Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, and Gulfstream, the facility will equip 1,000 students every year with high-demand technical skills to build family-sustaining careers right here in Arizona.

As Maricopa Community Colleges Chancellor Dr. Steven Bloomberg emphasized during the ceremony, "They come in as students, but to our defense partners, they're your future workforce. They're here to defend our country, they're here to defend our state and our cities, and they're here to help build a stronger Arizona."

Delivering a project of this scale on an aggressive timeline takes a true collective effort. As general contractor, Willmeng was proud to lead the construction effort alongside CGCC leadership, the ACA, and our project partners to build a space that will support our local workforce and national security for decades to come.

Looking back on a great time connecting with economic development partners at the AAED 2026 Fall Forum in Flagstaff.

Arizona’s position as the Silicon Desert is booming across advanced manufacturing, data centers, and global supply chains.

At a recent Bisnow event, Willmeng CEO James Murphy moderated a powerhouse panel featuring Fernando Garcia (Arizona Commerce Authority), Scott Guo (EQT Group), Jeff Foster (Prologis) and Vincent Polhemus (Clark Pacific) to discuss this rapid regional growth.

The panel discussion was a full macro to micro level view on the driving forces in the Industrial sector and Arizonas economy. It was mentioned that the state's success stems from a highly coordinated strategy between the ACA, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, the Arizona Chamber, and Arizona State University's massive engineering talent pipeline. As Fernando Garcia noted during the discussion, companies are no longer just learning about Arizona; they are actively choosing it.

This global momentum is heavily driven by the TSMC ripple effect. With the semiconductor giant operational and scaling in Phoenix, suppliers are aggressively expanding their footprints to keep up. Vincent Polhemus highlighted this local commitment, noting Clark Pacific's investment in a 160-acre facility to meet immediate infrastructure demands.

We are still at the front end of this wave, and industrial demand remains red-hot across all sectors. Rapid market absorption is the new normal, with Jeff Foster pointing out that available space north of half a million square feet is already gone.

That’s a wrap on Wellness Week 2026 at Willmeng HQ!
Throughout the week, our team took time to prioritize health, self-care, and well-being. Starting our mornings with yoga and breathwork, hosting onsite lab draws, IV therapy, vaccines, and our Vitalant Blood Drive, we are grateful to provide resources that support our team both on and off the job site.
Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and took time for themselves this week. Supporting our people will always be at the heart of what we do.

Exciting updates are coming to Dr. A.J. Chandler Park! As our team works on renovations in downtown Chandler, Willmeng was glad to contribute $15,000 alongside the City of Chandler and the Chandler Arts Commission to help bring a new permanent ostrich sculpture to the park.

We are honored to play a small role in celebrating Chandler’s rich history and supporting vibrant public art for the community!
