At Wang, we know the value of safety. This week, we’re sharing important tips on emergency response preparedness on construction sites. In after-action reviews of nearly every major emergency, one thing consistently stands out: planning and training are critical factors.

Is your job site prepared? Use this quick checklist to find out:
1. Are emergency procedures clearly defined and communicated to your team?
2. Do all workers know evacuation routes and meeting points?
3. Are emergency contacts posted and easily accessible?
4. Is first aid equipment stocked and ready to use?
5. Have employees been trained on how to respond in an emergency?

Preparation is essential. A well-prepared team can reduce risk, protect lives, and respond effectively when it matters most.
Take time today to review your emergency response plan. Safety is not the absence of incidents, but rather, the presence of defenses.

At Wang Electric we are always looking for more ways to maintain worker safety. This week, we are sharing safety tips on preventing falling object hazards at jobsites.

Falling objects pose a serious risk of injury, death, and property damage. Hazards occur when tools, materials, or equipment fall from scaffolding, shelves, or elevated machinery. Common causes include unsecured materials, dropped loads, environmental factors, and structural failures.
Prevention strategies include:
• Use of hard hats and PPE
• Engineering controls such as guardrails, toe boards, and debris nets
• Proper storage and securing of materials
• Regular site inspections and worker training
Addressing these hazards reduces injuries, equipment damage, and potential penalties from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Safety is not the absence of incidents, but rather, the presence of defenses.
