At Bella Builders, Quality Comes First—Not the Con.

We’ve built our reputation on skill, integrity, and real credentials—not gimmicks or shortcuts. Our team holds multiple nationally recognized licenses that required thousands of hours of verified experience and the successful completion of rigorous exams. That experience and training is not something you get by paying $50 at the city office.

Despite this level of qualification, we remain the most competitively priced contractors in the area. We don’t mark up materials—ever with bill copies to prove it. There’s no reason for us to make money off of your money. We believe in transparency, not tricks.

It’s time to see the “bid” for what it really is: a fool’s trap. Cutting corners is how others make their money, they sure are not going to work for free—and it’s you who pays for it in the end.

At Bella Builders, we never cut corners. We have nothing to gain from shortcuts and everything to lose in quality, safety, and trust.

We don’t use gimmicks. We don’t take shortcuts. We don’t compromise.

We’re Bella Builders. And we build right.

Project included all new doors, windows, siding, and a porch extension with a pergola. A rotted old bay window was the perfect opportunity to install a new walkout bay window that left room for a new cedar lined blanket cabinet. With everything scribed to fit there was no need for ugly quarter round or extra trims, when things are done right, they simply fit.

Before, After, and the Finished Product – A True Custom Kitchen

Take a look at the before and after design drawings alongside the finished kitchen—a project that exemplifies what true custom work is all about.

This kitchen features custom pullouts and accessories in every corner, with every detail meticulously crafted. We went beyond just cabinets—remaking baseboards and casing to perfectly match the existing profile and finish. This wasn’t just a paint job; we applied rubbed-on paint, followed by a custom-mixed stain and finished with three coats of varnish to achieve an exact match. When we exposed the chimney even, one side revealed bright, new-looking red brick that contrasted sharply with the aged appearance of the other side. To achieve a cohesive look, we refinished the newer brick to match the older, weathered side.

All-new electrical was installed throughout, exceeding building code requirements for both safety and functionality. Motion-activated under-cabinet lighting adds modern convenience and ambiance, while strategically placed under-cabinet outlets keep the space clean and clutter-free without compromising access.

As you can see, there are no filler trims, cover pieces, or shortcuts around the cabinets, flooring, or tile. Why? Because true custom craftsmanship means everything is precisely scribed to fit—no gaps, no seams, no excuses. When it’s done right, it doesn’t need to be covered up.

People wonder what my issue is with the city’s license and inspection policies, and today had a great example.

To get a license here requires you go online pay $100 roughly per month to get insurance and then pay the city license fee. No prior work history, no schooling, absolutely no training required at all for this “license”.

In the rest of the world you have to first work under a master licensed contractor for 4000 hours and have documentation to prove that. You then have to pass a very lengthy written exam. Now the city then inspects at every step of every project not with just a random employee, but a licensed building inspector. This is a person who has not only done all the work to be a license contractor, but has also attained a further inspectors license on top of that. Now this is not the case in every city, but those that have a license process most all function in this way.

In the pictures below you will see why cities do this. The previous “licensed” contractor swapped out the furnace and left the bottom of the old flu pipe wide open. Then another “licensed” contractor shortly after swapped out the water heater, can tell this by the dates of installation on both units. So both of these companies ignored the fact that the flue was shared by the water heater and yet was wide open. When the water heater fired you could feel heat and hot gases coming back out of the open flue in the picture. Of course zero inspection from the city that’s “protecting you” yet “licensed” both of these contractors.

After it was found the home owner stated that they were waking up dizzy and had a head ache most every morning. So two “licensed” local contractors chose to save $50, and potentially kill a family. This is my issue with the cities policy for those interested. Very thankful to my guy that spotted this while doing other work, may have just saved a life today.

New addition on a very historic house; special attention was given such as the refinished stone and lighted ledger to pay tribute to the original house.

Important structural work was also taken into account such as ensuring that the new roof load sat on the top of the existing stone was so it didn’t side load it, a new solid concrete above ground storm room aka the new walk in closet, the new floor being perfectly flush and continuous, and pocket doors in 2x6 interior walls. That all means this new addition is not only built to last another hundred twenty years, but is also handicapped ready should it be needed.

Office remodel; not many before pics. We really opened the place up and went from drop ceiling tiles to some very elaborate floating drywall ceilings. We had to completely rewire the building, rework the HVAC that was mostly blowing into the attic, and re-plastered the walls from old rough and dirty texture to be completely smooth. New trim details in the entry and a poured in place custom counter really helped finish this one off.

While it has been awhile since it was done I’m just now getting around to posting this. We dug a basement under the existing structure, added an entire four bedroom second story with a large bath and second living room, and enlarged the garage as well as completely remodeling the main floor raising the ceilings from 7’ to 12’. The first pics are the original working drawings and then there are before and after pics as well.
