🚨URGENT action alert: We need your help today! The Pennsylvania Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to approve HB 1095 Eviction Record Sealing but now it must pass the full Senate in the next two days.
This legislation, which has bipartisan support, is a critical step towards making sure Pennsylvanians have safe homes to live in. Even when a tenant is never actually evicted, an eviction filing can remain on their record and make it more difficult to find safe, stable housing. This law would seal certain eviction records from public view after seven years, just like a credit report already does for other issues. More information about why eviction records are so harmful can be found at the link below.
With only two voting days left, this bill must pass the full Senate by 10/21. We are expecting this vote to happen soon, and WE NEED YOUR HELP to get this over the finish line. Contact your PA Senator and urge them to pass HB 1095 before time runs out! 🚨
