Before and After — A Backyard Transformation

You don’t have to build an elaborate addition to completely change the way you use your backyard.

For this project, we removed the existing deck and created a covered outdoor living space built on a slab-on-grade foundation—a practical and more affordable approach that still allowed us to incorporate plenty of detail and character.

The finished space features a warm wood ceiling, large columns, custom trim details, a stone fireplace and TV wall, recessed lighting, ceiling fan, and plenty of room for relaxing and entertaining.

The result is a comfortable outdoor room that feels like a natural extension of the home—simple construction, thoughtful details, and a big impact.

Thinking about adding a covered porch or outdoor living space to your home? We’d love to help you explore the possibilities.

Another transformation complete!

For this project, we removed the existing sunroom and replaced it with a larger, brighter indoor-outdoor living space designed for year-round living and entertaining. We also completely remodeled the kitchen, creating a more open, updated space that flows naturally into the new addition.

One of our favorite parts about this project? These are repeat clients. There’s no better compliment—or referral—than having a past client trust us enough to invite us back for another major project.

If you cannot make the Tour of Remodeled Homes this weekend, take a look at the latest remodel and addition from Buttorff Design & Construction!

This project came with significant structural challenges, and our team was ready to take them on. Through thoughtful design, careful planning, and skilled construction, we created a more open floor plan, improved the flow throughout the home, updated the living spaces, and added valuable square footage to better fit the homeowners’ needs.

The result is a brighter, more functional home that feels connected, comfortable, and completely refreshed.

This project carefully preserved the character of a historic log cabin while adapting it for modern living. The original cabin was reconstructed, a new basement was added, and a contemporary living space was built onto the rear, blending traditional craftsmanship with updated comfort and functionality. &construction
