Location: Tipton, Greentown, and surrounding areas (expanding toward Cicero/ Muncie IN)

Overview:
Ross Construction is seeking a highly capable Area Manager to take ownership of a growing territory. This role is responsible for estimating, project management, and day-to-day operational control. The right candidate will be able to run jobs independently, communicate clearly, and uphold company standards across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct on-site estimates and client consultations
• Build accurate scopes of work and identify potential issues early
• Manage multiple active projects from start to finish
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, and material logistics
• Maintain job schedules, budgets, and quality standards
• Perform site visits and enforce accountability on jobsites
• Communicate concise updates, changes, and needs to ownership
• Ensure strong client experience from first contact through completion

Requirements :
Technical & Field Knowledge:
• Proven experience in residential construction and remodeling (5+ years preferred)
• Working knowledge of multiple trades (framing, roofing, siding, drywall, flooring, light electrical/plumbing)
• Ability to identify structural, cosmetic, and mechanical issues during walkthroughs
• Strong estimating ability—understanding of labor, materials, and production rates
• Ability to read plans, sketches, and scopes of work
Operational Ability:
• Highly self-managed—able to operate without constant oversight
• Strong decision-making skills in fast-moving job environments
• Capable of managing multiple jobs, crews, and timelines at once
• Organized with the ability to track details without letting things slip
• Comfortable using estimating/project management software (or quick to learn)
Communication & Leadership:
• Clear, direct communicator—no fluff, no confusion
• Able to give crews direction and hold standards on-site
• Professional with clients while maintaining authority and confidence
• Able to report issues, delays, and solutions quickly and accurately
Work Ethic & Mindset:
• Takes ownership of results—wins and losses
• Problem-solver, not excuse-maker
• Understands pace and urgency in construction environments
• Growth-minded—this role expands with the company
Basic Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to travel within the service area daily
• Ability to lift, inspect, and access typical residential job conditions
