Up goes the carport!

These are remarkably affordable. This one is 10x15 and suitable for a single car or regular size pickup.

We can install one for as little as $1,600. The price can change a little depending on what ground work you need, if any.

For example, we added 1.5 tons of pea gravel which added $50 to the cost.

Looks like we found a little termite damage.

Here's a little project we just completed. Originally a back porch, it was converted into a room several years ago and the walls were paneling.

We removed all that and covered it to drywall. Repaired the ceiling tiles and painted. Fresh paint in the walls and new trim with fresh matching paint.

Notice the schedule plastic in the floor. The entire room was covered in that before we started. Not a drop of paint or a spec of drywall dust got into the carpet.

Quick update on the Fremont remodel, the kitchen floor is now down to the subfloor!

Only three layers on it, but WOW, they really didn't want to come up.

Took advantage of the warm weather over the last two days for another stage of the remodel.

Next step is to cut out the windows. They will be hinged so they can be opened in the summer and closed in the winter for an all seasons deck.

I have an idea. I think it's probably a good idea because so many people have told me it probably isn't.

Loads of people are into DIY projects. The routine seems to be watching a ton of videos to see how it's done and then a trip to Ace, Midland, Home Depot, etc.

But in the course of my work I see many of these projects have gone a little sideways. Not horrible, mind you, just a little wonky.

It occurs to me that if people had a little help from someone with experience, their projects would come out much better.

And that's exactly what I'd like to try out.

Assistance, as a service.

If you've got a DIY project where you're trying to do something you've never done before, I'm willing to come help you.

Maybe you just need a hand moving something that's awkward (no, we're not furniture movers), or you don't have a tool that would make things go smoother.

Maybe you don't know the trick to getting caulk to come out right or you've never finished drywall.

Honestly, most small renovation projects can be done by home owners, just not as well as hiring a pro to do it because the home owner lacks experience.
