** SEVERE WEATHER RISK **
Valid: Monday, March 31st, 2025
There will be a risk of severe weather across much of central and eastern Pennsylvania Monday afternoon and evening. This will be due to an incoming cold front that will allow for stronger thunderstorms to develop across this region. We will see enough wind shear (change of wind direction and speed with height), and climbing temperatures and moist dew points will allow for some instability to develop. As always, the more sun that we can squeeze out during the day, it will allow for more instability to develop that can lead to even stronger thunderstorms. If I see this occur tomorrow, I may have to expand/increase the zone areas.
BEST TIMING: 12-8pm
ZONE 2: The greatest confidence for *SCATTERED* strong to severe thunderstorms. All severe weather hazards will be expected in the strongest thunderstorms. Expect damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph, large hail, and the potential for spin-up weak tornadoes.
ZONE 1: *ISOLATED* strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible in the afternoon. The greatest concern will be damaging wind gusts and the risk for a quick spin-up weak tornado.
Keep in mind, severe weather does not impact every house or neighborhood. Unless it is a large outbreak, severe weather impacts will differ even across small areas. It is always good to be prepared by having multiple ways of receiving severe weather alerts and a shelter to take cover in when severe weather strikes.
Stay tuned for more updates and reach out with any questions and/or concerns.
