We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Walt White. Walt joined Foster-Jacob in 1983 and worked for us until he retired in 2018. He was a highly skilled electrician, where he led many of our industrial projects at Illinois American Water and Caterpillar.

He was so much more than a great electrician, though. He was a good friend and mentor to many of us here. We were sad when he told us he was going to retire early, but we are so happy he had the opportunity to and he got to spend 8 years doing what he loved - playing golf, spending time with his kids and family and traveling.

Our thoughts are with his family and may he rest in peace.

We got to take the family to the much anticipated soft opening of the newly renovated Peoria Park District Golf Learning Center & Academy for brunch today! The food was exceptional- the kids said it was the best waffle they’ve ever had. We got to play with the simulator and hit some balls outside.

This was such a fun project to be a part of and will be a great addition to the Peoria area!

We are so thrilled to announce that Foreman Josh Allen received the Better Built Central Illinois Craftsman Award last night!

Since his apprenticeship, Josh Allen has demonstrated a strong work ethic and desire to produce high quality work. He continually takes the initiative to increase his specialized knowledge. Due to his proficiency and ability to handle complex electrical installations, Josh is an exceptional asset and representative of Foster-Jacob, Inc. and IBEW Local 34. Often supervising multiple projects at a time, he can prioritize workload and achieve consistent results, all while coordinating with peers, customers and project managers.

Josh showed exemplary craftsmanship while serving as the lead electrician on the new Komatsu Office Building project. Josh successfully led a crew of 10 electricians who collectively completed approximately 11,000 labor hours over a 10-month period.

Throughout the project, Josh consistently paid close attention to detail, coordinated effectively with other trades, and maintained high quality standards from start to finish. Under his leadership, the project was completed on time and under budget, with an overall project value of $3,065,000. Josh’s commitment to excellence and accountability reflects the highest standards of union craftsmanship.

Although Josh had not previously led a project of this scale, he successfully stepped into the challenge. His prior experience was primarily on industrial projects, where they were not any easier, but very different on how you manage the project, making his leadership of a new 76,000-square-foot building a significant expansion of responsibility that he handled with confidence and skill.

Congrats Josh and we appreciate everything you do for Foster-Jacob!

Adam has been working hard to get the fire station done. He is doing a great job and it looks amazing! This renovation will be a much needed upgrade for the Fire Department!
