This yard renovation has been a full transformation from the ground up. We started with major demo, removing over 150 plants to clear the space and reset the layout. From there, we made structural changes including raising the wall to gain extra height and improve both privacy and the overall backyard design.

One of the biggest challenges on this project was the grotto build. It required significant engineering, and we went beyond county minimums to make sure it was not only compliant but stronger and better built for long-term safety and performance. This kind of custom feature takes planning, precision, and extra steps that most homeowners never see, but it’s what makes the end result stand out.

On the utility side, we’re installing a two-inch gas main to support multiple appliances throughout the yard, giving the homeowners the flexibility to run everything they want without limitations. At this point, the project is in the final stretch, with detail work, lighting, and finishing touches left to wrap everything up.

This outdoor bar area was built from an old shipping container, and it turned into one of the coolest features in the backyard. We cut the container down, framed it out, added doors, tiled the interior floor, and built a custom bar countertop to make it fully functional for entertaining. It’s a unique way to create a bar space that feels modern, durable, and completely different from a standard backyard setup.

To tie everything together, we added a custom overhang pergola that matches the main outdoor pergola nearby. That design connection keeps the bar from feeling like a separate add-on and instead makes it part of the overall outdoor living environment. The structure brings shade, style, and a finished look that blends naturally with the rest of the yard.

Once everything is trimmed out, both pergolas will have permanent trim lighting installed, so the entire bar and patio area lights up at night. Between the container conversion, custom finishes, and integrated lighting, this bar becomes a true focal point for nighttime hangouts and weekend gatherings.
