A little taste of our residential dock building side. 💯💯💯

In this pic, we are going to try something a little different. Being into photography as a result of always being in the marine environment, I am continuously trying new things. Let's see who can guess what in this picture is my favorite part???

HINT: It isn't anything obvious.

I will post a special mention to anyone who guesses it correctly with the 1st person to mention the correct answer receiving a $100.00 gift card to a popular restaurant in downtown Pensacola.

Good luck & let's see what you come up with!!!

**The Comments section has opinions. 😂**

We’ve received a LOT of comments about 3 of our park projects. Graffiti Bridge, Sanders Beach and Woodland Park.

Some are great questions. Some are legitimate concerns. And some… probably need to be sent back for review. 😂

So welcome to **LOFTIS UNHINGED**

We figured we’d have a little fun and respond to a few of our favorites.

All jokes aside, we’re proud to be working on these projects and looking forward to seeing everything come together.

Keep the comments coming.

At this rate, **Part 2 is already under construction.** 😂

As we prepare to begin improvements for the City of Pensacola, we’ve had several questions about the turtles living in the pond next to the Graffiti Bridge. The pond itself is not part of our construction work and will remain undisturbed. The turtles aren’t going anywhere and will continue calling the pond home throughout the project.

Another truck struck Pensacola’s Graffiti Bridge yesterday.

We’re excited to be part of a project aimed at helping prevent these all-too-familiar bridge strikes.

As part of the City of Pensacola’s Wayside Park East & 17th Avenue improvements, Loftis Marine will be installing a new Low Bridge Advance Warning System (LBAWS) for vehicles approaching Graffiti Bridge.
This is much more than adding a few warning signs. The system is designed to detect an overheight vehicle before it reaches the bridge and automatically activate warning devices to alert the driver. The project includes detection and warning systems for traffic approaching the bridge from both directions.

The new system will include:
* Infrared overheight vehicle detection sensors
* Automatic illuminated “OVERHEIGHT VEHICLE DETECTED” blank-out warning signs
* Flashing warning beacons that activate when an overheight vehicle is detected
* LED-bordered advance warning signs
* CCTV cameras to monitor the approaches and record system activations
* New signal poles and foundations
* Additional NO TRUCKS signage and directional signs
* New pavement messages warning drivers: “CAUTION HEIGHT 10'-0" AHEAD”
* Communications, controls, power equipment and complete system integration
* Solar power with battery backup designed to provide at least 72 hours of operation without sunlight

When an overheight vehicle breaks the detection threshold, the system will automatically activate the blank-out signs and flashing beacons, while the CCTV system records the event.
It’s a pretty unique project, and we’re looking forward to getting it installed and operational.

Follow along as we build it.

Graffiti Bridge / Wayside Park – What about the locks?

We’ve seen quite a few comments asking what will happen to all of the “Lover’s Locks” attached to the fencing around the park.

The section of fence facing 17th Avenue will remain untouched, so any locks currently on that fence can stay right where they are.

Unfortunately, the locks attached to the boardwalk fencing will have to be removed during construction since that portion of the boardwalk is being rebuilt.

If you have a lock on the boardwalk and still have the key, we recommend coming by before construction begins and moving it over to the fence along 17th Avenue.

For the locks that can’t be removed with a key, we will cut them off and save them. They will NOT be thrown away.

Once construction is complete, we’ll make them available for people to reclaim, or we may try to find a way to incorporate the saved locks into the new build.

We know a lot of these locks have names, dates, and memories attached to them, so we want to make sure they’re saved during construction.

Please share this to help get the word out to anyone who may have a lock on the boardwalk!

Another fun project we're getting started on!

Loftis Marine is proud to be working with the City of Pensacola on improvements at Sanders Beach Park. There's a lot planned, and it's going to make the park even better for everyone who uses it.

Here's what's coming:
• New kayak launch
• New restroom building
• Solar lighting along the beach boardwalk
• Solar-powered lights at the pavilions
• New lighting along the park pathways
• New concrete sidewalks in select areas
• New benches at the playground
• Additional ADA-accessible parking
• Informational kiosks

We're looking forward to getting this one underway and will be posting updates as the project comes together. Thanks to the City of Pensacola for the opportunity to be part of another project that's investing in our community.

A look back at the official ribbon cutting for the new Ono Landing Boat Launch at the end of May.

We’re proud to have been part of this project and to see it officially open for the community. It’s always rewarding to watch a project go from the first piling to the final ribbon cutting.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen! We appreciate the opportunity to be part of another waterfront improvement that will serve boaters for years to come.

We’ve got some exciting work coming soon at Graffiti Bridge / Wayside Park!

Loftis Marine is proud to be working with the City of Pensacola on several improvements that will make the park safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

Here’s what’s planned:
• New asphalt throughout the parking lot, including repairs to all potholes
• A new pier next to the boat launch
• A lighted pedestrian walkway under the railroad tracks, so visitors can safely access both sides of the park without crossing the tracks
• A rebuilt boardwalk in the same footprint

We’re looking forward to getting started and will share updates as the project moves along. Thanks to the City of Pensacola for the opportunity to help improve one of Pensacola’s most recognizable waterfront parks.

What started as a construction site 2 years ago is now something the community can enjoy for years to come.

Projects like this don’t happen overnight.

There were challenges, weather, logistics, inspections, design coordination, and countless moving pieces behind the scenes — but seeing the final result makes it worth it.

I want to thank the City of Gulf Breeze for the work and their continued confidence in Loftis Marine and thank the public for their patience throughout the entire process.

Big thank you to our project manager Kaden Luttermoser, our employees, crews, and all of the subcontractors and professionals who helped bring this project to life.

Special Thanks To:
• Green Procedures, Inc — Landscaping
• PAVR — Paver Work
• Waterworks — Irrigation
• WAS Design Landscape Architects — Landscape & Paver Design
