🥵 YOUR A/C IS WORKING OVERTIME TODAY! 🥵

As of 3:10 PM, calibrated weather stations around our area are reporting some BRUTAL heat indices:

🌡️ Navarre — 98° / Feels Like 114°
🌡️ Gulf Breeze — 92° / Feels Like 109°
🌡️ Molino — 99° / Feels Like 123°
🌡️ Beulah — 98° / Feels Like 125° 🔥
🌡️ Cantonment (Tate HS) — 96° / Feels Like 118°
🌡️ Nine Mile (UWF) — 98° / Feels Like 121°
🌡️ Pensacola Airport (PNS) — 95° / Feels Like 113°

With heat like this, your HVAC system may run much longer than normal trying to keep up. Here are a few things you can do to HELP your system:

❄️ Don’t keep lowering the thermostat. Setting it to 65° won’t make your home cool faster it just keeps the system running.

❄️ Keep your thermostat at a reasonable, steady temperature. On extreme heat days, even a properly working system may struggle to maintain your normal indoor temperature.

❄️ Check your air filter. A dirty filter restricts airflow and makes your system work even harder.

❄️ Keep blinds and curtains closed, especially on windows getting direct afternoon sun.

❄️ Limit opening exterior doors and avoid using heat-producing appliances like the oven during the hottest part of the day when possible.

❄️ Make sure your outdoor unit is clear of grass, leaves and other debris that could restrict airflow.

⚠️ Most importantly: A system running for long periods during extreme heat does not automatically mean something is wrong. Your A/C is battling outdoor temperatures approaching 100° with heat indices well over 115°!

If your system isn’t cooling at all, the indoor temperature continues climbing significantly, you notice ice, leaking water, unusual noises, or the system shuts down, give Hayes Air Experts a call so we can check it out.
