PSA: I am no longer working under the name JP Masonry Inc. My father and his business are still very much fully functional and is still scheduling for this year so make sure to reach out for projects. Just so we’re clear, I’m not going anywhere, I’m still here to help but it’s time for a change. I ask for you followers to help get the word out by sharing, commenting, liking. Let’s build this thing one simple step at a time. Thank you for all the continued support.

We’re transitioning over on this side. The story of how I got here isn’t important and maybe it’s worth telling one day but not today.

We are now Grit & Mortar LLC . Being a 5th generation mason, my name is important to me. We will be doing business as “Perrone Masonry & Stone”. Operations will be ramping but nothing will take precedent over quality or attention to detail.

Make sure to share the hell out of this and let’s get word spread that we’re only getting better!

We love nothing more to serve prior customers when they have new projects to get done. After giving this home a facelift in the front yard a few years ago, we were called back for this patio.

Using Yankee Cobble “Vineyard Blend” and a graphite border, we’re able to tie in the portion of the yard with the deck and also with the front walkways. We reset the hand split granite and raised it to the door to allow for a comfortable step. A few circle patterns laid and this patio is set apart from the rest.

Big thanks to New England Cement Block for supplying necessary materials.

Got into this patio extension. The existing retaining wall/pool patio was built not too long ago. Customer wanted to extend their outdoor entertainment with a spot for hosting fires and that’s just what they got.

Bristol Valley Steel Mountain pavers bordered with the Basalt Copthorne pavers.

We dropped some granite curbing in to hold up any washout on the hill entering the patio and of course we had to tie it all in with black polished river rock. Nice gentle curves to ease the mind.

Big thank you to for supplying us with necessary materials. And we’re on to the next.

We formed and poured this 8 yard concrete slab and then installed a Genest “Tradeport” paver walkway to connect his existing walkway to the structures(s) that are soon to be sitting on the slab.

Our Little Island Pond project is complete!

What a fun project we were able to have complete freedom on. Put up this 2-tier stone retaining wall with some locally sourced field stone.

After his new deck was installed we came and drew up a raised patio and started dropping in some old curbing, and some new. Shane came in and laid out some beautiful “Katahdin” pavers by Genest.

Wrapped up another entrance way. Entry stairs were veneered with Stoneyard’s “Colonial Tan”. A blend of Ashlar and Square & Rectangle. Capped with granite treads and landing.
Shane then came in and laid a beautiful walkway with Ideal’s Yankee Cobble “Vineyard Blend” accented with a graphite border. A timeless combo.

Thank you to New England Cement Block for supplying us with quality materials.

We were able to help out a good friend of ours with this gorgeous natural dry-stack stone retaining wall. You just can’t beat the look and function of a good old fieldstone wall. We’re still booking for the remainder of the 2024 season. More stone projects are always welcome!
