Did you know wasps typically make nests on your east & west side of your home? 🪰🐝
-This is because with the sun rising in the east and setting in the west, those sides seem to get hit with the most sun light. That sunlight makes your home warm and makes it the perfect incubator for wasps. ☀️🫠
- Your home also makes a safe space for wasps protecting them from wind and the elements unlike a tree.
- Wasps also have to come to realize that nesting this close to us humans means they have easier access to food. Wasps will eat meat, fruit, sugar liquids, water and a lot of other foods we throw out everyday. 🍒🍔🥤
Tips to keep them away
- clean up any left out food and any spills from drinks
- make sure your hose doesn't have a leak ( they'll make this their drinking fountain)
- wipe grease off grills and garbage cans and cover grills if possible
- Try to keep your yard tidy as wasps will use anything that can safe them from the elements.
