When building a deck it is important to take the proper steps to make sure your deck is long lasting and sturdy. On this deck we are reusing the original frame so to give it a longer life we are properly sealing it with a fastenmaster frame coating and joist tape to cover over any areas water could go between joists or blocking. We will install the fascia and tape over that as well to prevent any water from rotting the wood behind the fascia. We also added proper blocking between joists to prevent bounce on the new composite top. .

This week we wrapped up on this colossal deck that had been rotting and was in need of a refresh. We were able to reuse most of the original framework, but we reinforced it with a proper support beam running the full length of the deck. On the back side of the home, we replaced the old deck with a new walkway that now connects seamlessly to the back door. To finish the project, we installed rough-cut cedar fascia along the front of the deck at the homeowner’s request, perfectly complementing the home’s beautiful cedar siding.

With the recent cold weather, I was grateful to work indoors on this kitchen renovation. I replaced the outdated laminate countertops with beautiful butcher block countertops and the old sink with a new farmhouse-style sink. I repositioned the dishwasher and sink base to better center the sink on the window and added a custom cabinet from Eubank's Custom Woodworking. The client will complete the backsplash with a beautiful tile setting themselves.
