Do you keep up with regular maintenance for your electrical system?
Why should you? A picture is worth a thousand words.

This client called us because their lights kept flickering, they wanted us to come on Friday thank God they asked us to come in yesterday.

Side note: If you feel that there is something wrong with your electrical system please, please call a professional to take a look at it, you never know how serious the situation could be.

What's worst, they had another "electrical contractor" do some work for them recently. Not all contractors do a safety assessment of your home. Thank God we do!

The main breaker kept arcing, it arced after we removed the panel cover within seconds. The homeowner said:

"Oh yeah, it did that when the other guy was here, he said it was normal."

That is definitely not normal, electrical equipment is not supposed to have burn marks.

This panel has been in contact with water, even if it's minor it could cause the metal parts of the electrical system to malfunction, (which in this case it did).

Upon further inspection we found the meter enclosure fully corroded. We replaced the breaker last night, and we agree to upgrade the entire electrical service, making this home safer.

How often do you test your home's safety system? Testing protection devices like shock protection AKA "GFCI" Receptacles, breakers, Fire protection or Arc-Fault breakers, Smoke/CO2 detectors. These devices are paramount for the safety of your home.

When was the last time you had a pro do a full safety and performance assessment of your home's electrical and fire protection systems?

Do you keep up with regular maintenance?

Do you have a wholehouse surge protection system?

Are your smoke/CO2 detectors expired? (Wait what? They expire?) Yes, they do.

Have your electrical panel and meter been in contact with water? (Yes we said water). It's actually very common for us to find panels with corrosion and/or water damage and homeowners have no idea of how dangerous that is.

These are some of the unsafe situations we have come across in the last few days.

Are you getting an above ground pool?

We are qualified, licensed bonded and insured electrical contractors. We can do the electrical work required for your pool. And even if you don’t hire us, make sure to hire reputable, licensed electrical contractors for this and any type of electrical work.

Today we found another highly dangerous improper installation. We originally came out to provide a quote for an outdoor light installation, to repair the broken conduit under the meter, and a new outdoor outlet.

It is extremely important to note that this customer already had 3 electricians come out to their home, and not one of them informed the customer of the hazard associated with their existing water ground.

As always our 2 priorities are customer satisfaction and their safety. We are so grateful that we do a full safety assessment on every visit. We found that the main grounding system of the house is a total failure.

This grounding system installation it’s a hazard to the client and their family. We also provided a quote to do the repair of their grounding system.

Now our customer can make an educated decision on what work to do.

Our priorities are:
#1. 100% Customer satisfaction, by providing 5 star service for our clients.
#2. Safety is highly important for us. We want our customer, their family, and their home to be safer after our visit.

We accomplished both on this project!

Our customer hired us to install a ceiling fan in their bedroom, they are 100% satisfied with the work. They also got a Full Safety Assessment, and thank God they did!

Their utility service coming in to the house had a broken neutral or grounded conductor, (the white wire). This is a serious hazard for a home, it could damage electrical appliances, cause a fire and it could also electrocute someone. (Under the right conditions).

Their service also had a broken conduit at the top of the meter, where water was gettin the meter. We all know water and electricity don't do well when mixed.

Well, we replaced the electrical service, and connected their neutral conductor. Making their home safer!

Note: The utility company does not repair this type of issue it was "The homeowner's problem."

When our customer lost power to their dishwasher they called us. We diagnosed the problem and found a broken connection in this box buried in the ceiling a violation of code aka “not safe!”

The box did not have a safety cover, worst yet some of the wires did not have appropriate connectors, with exposed live connections.

This installation exposed our client to a few hazards:

1. The least serious hazard, damage to the equipment connected. (Their dishwasher).

2. Electric shock or electrocution to some one if they ever touched this exposed wires.

3. Fire, this installation was done in an area of the home with wood and other combustibles. Under certain conditions this could have caused a fire.
