Connecting a wire to a terminal is the easy part.

The real workmanship shows up when the box gets crowded.

We could have made the connections, pushed everything back into the box and been on our way. Instead, we took the extra time to strip the cable back, properly shape and organize the conductors, and make sure everything went back together safely.

Why does that matter?

Because inside a crowded electrical box, poor workmanship can mean damaged conductors, loose connections, grounds contacting terminals, pinched wires and problems that may not show up until months or years later.

A neat electrical box isn't just about making the electrician's work look pretty.

It's about making sure it stays safe after the cover goes back on.

Electrical work can look simple from the outside. Knowing how to do it properly is the difference.
