Look at these adorable MUFFED Fibro Eggers that hatched this morning. They definitely got that from their momma 😍
So, what is a Fibro Egger you may ask? 🐔
A Fibro Egger is a unique bird that carries the fibromelanosis (fibro) gene, which causes increased dark pigmentation throughout the skin and connective tissues. This can give them that beautiful dark or almost black appearance on their skin, face, comb, wattles, legs, and sometimes even inside their mouth.
When you combine the fibro gene with an Easter Egger, you get a Fibro Egger! They can come in a variety of colors and patterns, and because they're Easter Eggers, their offspring may also lay a range of beautiful blue, green, olive, or other tinted eggs.
One of the coolest things about Fibro Eggers is that no two birds have to look exactly alike. Their coloring, amount of dark pigmentation, and egg color can all vary depending on their genetics.
We love having these fibro eggers in our flock and it is always exciting to see what color egg they will lay. They’re definitely a fun and unique addition to our flock! 🐔🖤
