Prep Your Property Before Storm Season Peaks
We're in the heart of hurricane season and August through October is when it gets serious. Before the next storm system spins up, take an hour to walk your property with these things in mind:
1. ROOF & FASCIA — Look for lifted shingles, cracked tiles, or any fascia pulling away from the roofline. Water gets in fast when these fail.
2. WINDOWS & DOORS — Check the caulking and weather stripping around every opening. Gaps that look minor are pathways for wind-driven rain.
3. EXTERIOR WALLS — Look for stucco cracks, especially around window and door frames. Small cracks can become big water intrusion problems under storm pressure.
4. DRAINAGE — Make sure gutters are clear and that grading around your foundation directs water away from the structure, not toward it.
Catching these issues now, before a storm is in the forecast, means you have time to address them properly rather than patch them in a panic.
If your walk-around turns up something you're not sure about, we're happy to take a look. Reach out today.
