Located in Montvale, New Jersey, Ground Rules Landscaping offers all types of residential and commercial landscaping maintenance services for Bergen and Rockland counties. Doug Catherwood, owner of Ground Rules Landscaping, Inc., graduated from the University of Delaware in 1991 with a Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science and decided to enter the corporate world. After working in the corporate

world, Doug returned to his true passion …working outdoors landscaping. and has worked diligently to build his business and cultivate his customer base by treating them with care and respect. Doug continues to educate himself at Rutgers, taking classes each winter to stay current with landscaping trends as well as lawn and plant disease prevention. Established in 1996 as a full service maintenance firm, our initial customer base of residential homes expanded to include commercial properties, condominiums and townhomes. Our territory has substantially increased over the last several years and the scope and depth of the company has expanded to mirror this growth. A comprehensive hiring and training program has produced highly-qualified ground crews and support staff. Investments in equipment, including cutting-edge machinery, vehicles, trailers and materials ensures that our crews are able to uphold Ground Rules’ high standards. Doug has always believed in the “hands on” approach to running his company, personally overseeing and taking part in the day-to-day operations. He has a natural mechanical ability that allows him to keep his multitude of equipment in top working order. Doug strives not only to have them in good working condition, but also keeps his trucks and equipment professional looking so that you take pride when Ground Rules Landscaping is at your home or facility.
