Just because you don’t see water inside does not mean you don’t have a leak present. The soffit under this had no staining, no discoloration and from all observations was just a “soft spot”. Where there is water there is rot. We saw this coming so not a delay but something to think about when you look up and shingles are missing or just don’t look right.

Hiring a competent roofer saves a lot of the “we ran into this” that takes your affordable replacement and turns it into a massive bill.

We try to stay on top of building code changes and what’s new in construction. So weekly we look for any changes/update local and state wide. This week was a quiet one.

I found no consequential statewide Arkansas or local NEA roofing-code adoption or enforcement change this week. The October 7 Residential Committee and October 9 Commercial Board dates concerned licensing activity, not a published roofing-code change.

If the bar raises we will be raising our standards to make sure your property is up to par. Make sure who you are using is up to date.

We had a leak!!! Friday we got the call that there was a leak at the carport…. 2 year workmanship warranty activated. We came out today. Repaired and improved the area by boxing out a soffit. Added cap sheet and a kick out diverter and BAM. Leak gone.

Interesting read!! Have you ever dealt with this here in Arkansas? I know a TON of customers who have “to old” of roofs to get repairs done. That’s what they initially say at least. Coverage is coverage. Knowing your policy now literally saves you THOUSANDS in a loss.
