Last Saturday was the perfect day for our 11th Annual Paradise Seed & Plant Swap!
The weather was perfect and everyone was so cheery and supportive, it was great to see all of the different seeds, plants, and other garden goodies that people brought with them to share.
This was definitely our biggest turnout of community since we started doing this, we might have to expand next year to make more room.
We had some wonderful organizations set-up to help you find the answers to all your gardening/landscaping questions and connect with local community groups, gardens and other plant projects.
Thank you Butte County Local Food Network, Regenerating Paradise, Paradise Rotary Interact Club, Neighborhood Habitat Certificate Program/AltaCal Bird Alliance, The Monarch Fellowship Hub, and the ladies from the upcoming Ridge Homesteading Faire!
Once again, our local Paradise Starbucks donated coffee and some other goodies that helped us run smoothly through the day. Thank you Karen Farris for going above and beyond, you are amazing!
This year we had so many amazing Volunteers, it kind of felt like when we first started out with a large group.
Thank you ladies from 7 Ridges Herbal Cooperative for helping package seeds and showing up to help with all things seed swap.
Cynthia, Lauren, Allie, Calli-Jane, Maria, Katie, Linda, Leslie, Jeannie, & Jeannie, couldn't have done it without your help!
Thank you to Paradise Masonic Lodge for always being accommodating for our event.
Sherri Scott from Harvests & Habitats Nursery once again brought all of her beautiful plants to offer up to the community, and who always shares resources with us. Inspiration from the Chico Seed & Scion Swap is where all this started, thank you so much!
A huge thank you going out to Peenk Ster (Charlene) for doing so much work with the advertising and bringing so many seed packets, we really appreciate all you do for the seed community!
And lastly thank you to our community, so many individuals donated seeds & plants, even people who were unable to attend.
Seed Saving is a very important and useful skill; we are so grateful for everyone who donated. Thank you to the many seed companies that have donated to our events and community/school gardens year after year.
And thanks to you all we easily raised enough $ to pay for next year's rental of the hall.
Keep your eyes peeled for some amazing upcoming events, and if you missed the seed swap feel free to visit the Little Free Seed Library to get some seeds for your garden or yard.
See you next year!
