This project has been an absolute thrill to work on with such great people! And yes, getting to walk through a time capsule of Panama City History was a fantastic beginning!

Glad to see this event back this fall!

Glad to see this event back this fall!

Only 3 performances left for Backstage Pass at the Marina Lawn. Here's what's coming up on October 8:

J & The Causeways bring funky soul and R&B to every stage they grace, fronted by the leadership and vocal stylings of keyboardist Jordan Anderson. Anderson was influenced by his piano teacher grandmother’s music collection –classic Al Green, Otis Redding, Queen, and Aretha Franklin inspired the young Anderson to find the power and emotion behind his talented voice. As an adult, Anderson brings that background and his powerful vocal stylings to lead the six-piece band, including a kick-ass horn section, in rocking soul tunes like “Half a Man” from their Jam in the Van EP release and their 2024 single “Lately.”

Join us on the lawn between Hotel Indigo Panama City and Harrison's Kitchen & Bar next Thursday at 7pm. All you need is a chair and to have a good time—This concert is free to attend!

What can an old building become?

This project is a fascinating example of why we love adaptive reuse.

The new San Francisco Flower Market began with a collection of aging industrial buildings—built at different times, with different construction methods and plenty of problems to solve. Rather than simply replacing them with something new, the design team found a way to knit the existing structures together, strengthen them for modern seismic requirements, improve their energy performance, and create something distinctly contemporary.

The result is a great reminder that adaptive reuse isn't about freezing a building in time. It's about understanding what is worth preserving, finding the "good bones," and giving an existing structure a useful new life.

That idea resonates with us, particularly here on the Gulf Coast, where so many older buildings have stories, materials and character that can't simply be recreated.

We're always interested in projects that ask:

What should we preserve?
What should we change?
And how can the old and new work together?

This one is worth a look.

Rescue and reuse! Always good to see!

Rare, century-old tiles once destined for the landfill are getting a second life — and some are headed to a museum in Flint. Detroit artist and preservationist Tim Burke rescued the historic Flint Faience tiles from the abandoned Highland Towers Apartments.
