🌊⚓ STORM PREPARATION REMINDER FOR WATERFRONT PROPERTY OWNERS! ⚓🌊

With severe weather potentially impacting our area, Cay Marine Construction wants to remind our waterfront neighbors to take a few simple precautions to protect their docks, boathouses, and boat lifts.

A few things to check before the storm:

✅ Secure your boat – Make sure your vessel is properly secured or removed from the water if possible.

✅ Raise your boat lift – If conditions allow, raise your lift to the appropriate safe position and secure your vessel according to the lift manufacturer’s recommendations.

✅ Turn off power to your dock – Shut off electrical power to docks, boat lifts, and boathouses at the appropriate breaker if safe to do so.

✅ Turn off water to your dock – Shut off the water supply to your dock or boathouse to help prevent unnecessary water damage if plumbing is damaged during the storm.

✅ Secure loose items – Remove or secure furniture, fishing equipment, coolers, and anything else that could become airborne.

✅ Check your dock and boathouse – Look for loose boards, damaged decking, weakened pilings, and unsecured roofing materials.

✅ Inspect your mooring lines – Make sure ropes, cleats, and tie-offs are in good condition and account for changing water levels.

✅ Take photos – Document the current condition of your dock, seawall, boat lift, and boathouse for insurance purposes.

⚠️ Most importantly, put safety first! Never attempt to secure equipment during dangerous winds, lightning, or rising water.

This custom boathouse came together clean.
