Our annual Toy Drive is back! 🎁

Every year, this community shows up big for the kids of Bay County, and we're hoping to make this year our biggest one yet. Just bring a new, unwrapped toy to our office for a local kid in need.

Need ideas? Bikes, scooters, Barbies, superhero figures, books, craft sets, sports balls, remote control cars, headphones, and games are always a hit.

Then join us for the celebration on Saturday, December 5 at 6 PM, right here at 7729 Franklin Ave in Southport. You can also make a charitable donation to the HTP Foundation.

Here's one most people never think about until there's water on the floor: your AC drain line.

When your system cools your home, it pulls moisture out of the air. That water drains outside through a small pipe. In Florida, algae and gunk love to build up in that line, and after months of nonstop summer use, it can clog.

Water around your indoor unit, a musty smell, or an AC that suddenly shuts itself off can all point to a clogged line. Catching it early saves you from water damage later.

It's Fire Prevention Week, and with heating season coming up, here are a few quick safety reminders:

🔥 The first time you turn on the heat, a light burning smell is normal. That's dust burning off. If the smell sticks around or gets stronger, turn it off and give us a call.

🔥 Keep boxes, laundry, and storage away from your indoor unit and any space heaters. They need room to breathe.

🔥 Test your smoke detectors. If your home has any gas appliances, test your carbon monoxide detectors too.

October is Energy Awareness Month, so here's one that doesn't get talked about enough: your house might be leaking air.

Small gaps around doors, windows, and the attic let your cooled (or heated) air slip right out. So your system keeps running to make up for air you're already paying to lose.

The fixes are usually pretty cheap. Fresh weatherstripping, a little caulk around the windows, and a look at your attic insulation can go a long way, especially with Florida temps bouncing all over the place this time of year.

The first cool night is going to sneak up on you. And when it does, you're going to flip your heater on for the first time in months. If something's wrong, that's the absolute worst time to find out.

Try turning it on now while it's still warm. Let it run for a few minutes. If it smells weird, makes a strange noise, or just stares at you and does nothing... give us a call while there's no rush. Way better than finding out at 2am when you're shivering and Googling "why is my heater not working." 🥶

Your ducts are what carry the cool (or warm) air from your system to every room in your house. If they've got leaks, gaps, or buildup, your system is working way harder than it should. That means higher energy bills and those weird hot and cold spots around your home.

Today we're taking a moment to honor Dolly Parton, a woman who meant so much to so many.

Dolly taught us that working 9 to 5 wasn't just a way to make a living, it was a way to pour your heart into something bigger than yourself. She gave the world music, laughter, millions of books for children, and a kindness that never wavered.

From a small one-bedroom log cabin in the Smoky Mountains to lighting up the entire world, Dolly proved that where you start doesn't define where you end up. She just had to be unapologetically herself, and that was more than enough.

Happy First Day of Fall! 🍂

And by "fall" in Florida, we mean it might drop below 90° sometime in the next six weeks. Maybe. If we're lucky. Don't hold us to that.

But the cooler mornings are coming (eventually), and that means your AC will finally start getting a little break after months of working overtime. Enjoy it while it lasts. Florida "winter" will be here before you know it, and then it'll be right back to 85° by February.
