While some projects may not be the most impressive, each one is appreciated. This small addition was the second project I provided for this client and he actually requested that the contractor use us as the engineer for it.
This has created a great working relationship with the contractor, Coastal Homes & Restoration Services, LLC. with more projects to come!

These two homes had a few fun challenges, but seeing the beautiful indoor/outdoor living spaces and grand openings, it all worked and I'm glad we were able to make the architect's vision a reality!

Thrilled to announce that I have passed the SE Exam to become a licensed Structural Engineer in the state of Utah! This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the support, patience, and encouragement of so many around me, particularly in the last year.

What is the SE Exam and what have I been the last 8 years if not a structural engineer? It is a 16-hour exam broken up into two components, vertical and lateral, to test your ability to safely design buildings, especially in areas of high seismicity and high wind. Certain jurisdictions license structural engineers separately from other professional engineers to provide services for significant structures (schools, hospitals, etc.). So, in currently 6 states, I am a professional engineer, PE and in Utah, I can now call myself an SE!
