Electrical work isn’t slowing most electricians down right now… it’s everything around it.

Permits, plan sets, meter spot requests, utility back-and-forth, and even the occasional NEM application are becoming part of the job whether you want them to be or not. It’s not difficult work, but it takes time, and that time pulls you away from installs, estimates, and running your business.

We’ve been helping electricians handle this side of the work in the background so projects keep moving without getting stuck in the process. It’s turned into something a lot bigger than just permit help, and honestly, it’s been one of the easiest ways for electricians to take on more work without adding overhead.

We also built a tool to compare the cost of hiring someone internally versus outsourcing this side of the business, and it’s been interesting to see how that pencils out depending on volume.

If you’re running into this on your projects, this might be worth a read: https://www.reinnovations.org/post/electrical-panel-permit-assistance-for-electricians-why-delegating-the-paperwork-helps-you-finish-m

Electrical panel upgrades are routine work for electricians, but permits and utility coordination often slow projects down. This article explains how electrical panel permit assistance helps contractors save time, stay compliant, and focus on completing electrical work while administrative tasks are...

Thinking about adding a battery to your home?

Not all systems work the same and choosing the wrong one can cost you performance, flexibility, or money over time.

I put together a detailed comparison between SolarEdge Nexis and Tesla Powerwall 3 to help break it down in a way that actually makes sense.

If you are considering solar, adding storage, or just trying to understand your options better, take a look.

Read it here:

Solar batteries aren’t “new” anymore.

They’ve come a long way and are now a reliable option for homeowners and businesses looking to take more control of their energy.

If you’ve been curious about battery storage, this is a good read 👇
https://www.reinnovations.org/post/solar-batteries-are-not-early-technology-anymore

Many homeowners believe solar and battery technology is still in its early stages, but the reality is far different. Solar panels, lithium batteries, and modern inverters have been refined over decades and are now reliable, efficient, and widely deployed. In this article we explore how today’s sol...

Not every utility is on the same timeline.

Homeowners in areas like LADWP and Riverside Public Utilities still have something many others don’t right now… flexibility.

While much of California has shifted into stricter net billing structures, some smaller utilities are giving homeowners a little more room to plan, evaluate, and make the right long-term decision.

That doesn’t mean wait forever
It just means you have options

In this article, I break down what that flexibility really means, why it matters, and how to think about solar and storage in these regions today.

If you’re in one of these service areas, this is worth understanding before making a move.

Homeowners served by smaller municipal utilities like LADWP and Riverside Public Utilities still have more flexibility with solar. Unlike most of California, these utilities haven’t transitioned to NEM 3 yet—meaning you can still go solar without a battery. Learn why storage is optional for now,...

Home batteries are becoming one of the most important parts of modern solar systems. But when homeowners start comparing options, the conversation often begins in the wrong place.

Most people immediately compare brand names or spec sheets without first asking what problem the battery is meant to solve. Are you trying to keep the lights on during outages? Reduce time-of-use energy costs? Or maximize solar production on a complex roof?

I recently published a deep comparison between Tesla Powerwall 3 and the Enphase IQ Battery 10C, two of the most talked-about battery systems in the industry today.

Both are excellent technologies, but they are built around very different design philosophies. Tesla focuses on high power output and system consolidation, while Enphase leans into modular architecture and distributed energy management.

Understanding those differences can completely change which system makes the most sense for a home.

If you're considering solar + storage or simply want to understand how these systems work, this article breaks it down in a way that homeowners and professionals can both appreciate.

Tesla Powerwall 3 and Enphase IQ Battery 10C represent two very different approaches to home energy storage. This homeowner-focused comparison breaks down power output, storage capacity, system design, and real-world considerations to help you decide which battery makes the most sense for your solar...

Installing a Level 2 EV charger at home is one of the most practical upgrades an EV owner can make. It eliminates public charging dependency, allows predictable overnight charging, and helps homeowners take advantage of off peak utility rates.

In this article, I compare three of the most popular 48A Level 2 chargers:
• Wallbox Chargers Pulsar Plus (48A)
• Tesla Universal Wall Connector (48A)
• Enphase Energy IQ EV Charger 2 (48A)

All three deliver similar charging speed at roughly 11.5 kW, adding about 35 to 45 miles of range per hour. The real differences come down to ecosystem integration, connector type, warranty, flexibility, and long term planning.

Remember having the charger properly installed on a dedicated 60A circuit breaker matters just as much as brand selection.

How did Qcells Worldwide become the number one solar panel brand in America? It was not hype. It was not just higher wattage. And it was not overnight.

It came down to manufacturing strategy, vertical integration, serious investment in U.S. production, and long term commitment to the American market. While other brands scaled back or exited, Qcells doubled down.

They built infrastructure. They built supply chains. They built trust.

In our latest blog, we break down what actually positioned them at the top and why that matters for homeowners and businesses making 25 year energy decisions.

At Renewable Innovations, we partner with manufacturers that are stable, bankable, and thinking long term. That is why Qcells is part of our ecosystem.

If you are evaluating solar right now, brand strength and staying power matter more than ever.

Read the full article here:
https://www.reinnovations.org/post/how-qcells-became-the-1-solar-panel-brand-in-america

Qcells didn’t become the most widely sold solar panel brand in America by accident. From its engineering roots in Germany to large-scale U.S. manufacturing, Qcells has built a reputation around reliability, performance, and long-term stability. Today, that vision extends beyond solar panels with i...

A residential Level 2 EV charger in California should not come with $600+ in permit fees before installation even starts.

I recently processed an EV charger permit in Palm Springs where the city fees alone were higher than an electrical panel upgrade permit for the same home. That kind of cost discourages compliance and pushes homeowners toward unpermitted installs, which creates real safety risks.

California capped solar permit fees for a reason. Residential EV chargers deserve the same treatment.

I wrote a short article breaking down a real example and why this needs attention.

Sizing a home battery starts with understanding when you use electricity most. Learn how to estimate battery size using peak TOU hours, average energy consumption, and simple math that homeowners can actually use.
