In Pompano Beach, Fla., real estate developers the Related Group and Merrimac Ventures, along with Hilton, recently announced the topping-off of Waldorf Astoria Residences Pompano Beach, the brand’s first standalone residential project. The architecture is led by Nichols Architects in collaboration with KORA, with interiors by BAMO.

The 28-story Pompano Beach condo tower will provide 92 units, along with beachfront, a private marina, and an oceanfront pool deck.

Work recently concluded on the Mote Science Education Aquarium (Mote SEA), a 146,000 sf facility in Sarasota designed for Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. Envisioned as a new flagship for marine science, research, and education, the project combines immersive visitor experiences with state-of-the-art laboratories to advance Mote’s mission of protecting and restoring ocean ecosystems.

The facility includes three STEM classrooms for K–12 students and workforce training labs for university students.

St. Regis Residences, Houston, a 38-story luxury branded condominium tower, recently broke ground. Located at 102 Asbury Street in Houston, Texas, the project sits on the northern bank of River Oaks and will feature an exclusive collection of 90 luxury residences, ranging from one to three bedrooms, as well as seven penthouses.

The design for the 38-story St. Regis Residences is inspired by the meandering pathway of an adjacent nature preserve.

Waco Surf, an inland surfing and water sports resort in Waco, Texas, is building a residential community called The Desperado on 450 acres adjacent to the resort. The development aims to blend surfing with luxury living.

Icon will 3D-print the curved, wave-inspired homes, which will go up on 450 acres adjacent to the resort.

A proposed Navy SEAL Museum designed by ZGF Architects would have a fitting home on San Diego’s waterfront. The SEALs and their predecessors have been rooted in the San Diego area since 1945. With a shape evocative of a warship, the four-story, 85,000-sf building’s massing uses angular geometries to convey momentum while preserving sightlines to the harbor.

With a shape that evokes a warship, the $256 million, 85,000-sf museum features a central atrium that can accommodate military aircraft and other large, suspended artifacts.
