We’re excited to celebrate Anna Black on her incredible achievement—First Place Winner in Kent State’s national Design for Pediatric Environments competition.

Anna was part of the PFGW team as a 2X summer intern, and it’s been exciting to watch her talent and dedication continue to grow. This recognition is well deserved, and a testament to her creativity and commitment to thoughtful, impactful design.

It’s always rewarding to see members of the PFGW family out in the world refining their craft and making a difference. Congratulations, Anna—we can’t wait to see what’s next!

We were deeply saddened to hear of Carolyn’s passing. She was a cherished part of the PFGW family for many years, and her kindness, dedication, and presence left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of working with her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this time.

Carolyn Hollan Brown, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Providence Pointe Healthcare at the age of 95.

She was born January 14, 1931 in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Martin Terry and Lora Thelma James Standfield.

Carolyn was a retired secretary from Peck, Flannery, Gream & Warren Architectural Interior Design Firm. She was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She also gave her time as a member of the Western Baptist Auxiliary volunteer organization and volunteered at the Carson Center.

Carolyn loved to play cards, especially Hand and Foot with the ladies, eat a Harned’s chili dog and drink Diet Cokes.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Holm (Jimmy) of Paducah, Kentucky; her stepdaughter, Rhonda Steil of Weaverville, North Carolina; her two stepsons, including Kevin Brown (Karen) of Knoxville, Tennessee; her sister, Marilyn Ligon of Lexington, Kentucky; one grandson, Hollan Holm; eight step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Sylvia and George; eleven step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George “Tommy” Hollan; her second husband, Ray D. Brown; and her sister, Barbara Nell Bennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Pastor Jamie Broome officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Immanuel Baptist Church, 3465 Buckner Lane, Paducah, Kentucky 42001.
