‼️THINGS TO KNOW AND ASK before hiring a Contractor‼️
* Are they licensed? To name a few, electricians, plumbers, and roofers must be licensed to work in the State of Florida. (Tree companies do not have to be licensed, although some are, so consider asking them about their credentials and certifications).
* Are they registered with Sunbiz (Florida Division of Corporations)?
This proves that a business legally exists in Florida, however it does not prove that someone has their license (See DPBR, below).
* Are they registered with the State of Florida? To find out if your licensed contractor is registered, go to the Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DPBR) to search.

Licensed contractors are bound to state rules while unlicensed contractors have no one to answer to which could lead to expensive and drawn out lawsuits.
* Do they carry Liability and Workers Comp Insurance? If not, you could be financially liable if their worker gets hurt on your property or causes damages. This protects you and them from financial risk if something goes wrong.
* Get a second opinion if the price seems too high. Desperation can cause some to take advantage of your vulnerable state. It IS OK to get a second opinion. We know that price gouging is 💯% happening in our area.
