You know pools have officially consumed your life when you start having nightmares about your customers’ pools. 😂🤦‍♂️

One of my customers has their home for sale. Beautiful property, beautiful pool, and this awesome old-school iron fence around it.

Well… last night, my brain decided I needed to check on the pool in my sleep too. 😂

I dreamed I pulled up to service it and THEY HAD FILLED THE POOL IN WITH DIRT, poured some crappy concrete over the top of it, AND TORE DOWN THE OLD IRON FENCE! 😭

Y’all… I was LEGITIMATELY UPSET. 😂

Then I woke up and realized none of it actually happened.

Apparently fighting algae all day isn’t enough anymore. The Pool Guy is working the night shift too. 🤦‍♂️😂🏊‍♂️

I might need a vacation. 😂

Last but not least on today’s list… HIGH CYA! 🧪💦

And unfortunately, there’s no magic chemical for this one.

When stabilizer (CYA) gets too high, the ONLY way to bring it back down is to dilute the water. That means draining a portion of the pool and replacing it with fresh water.

So down she goes! ⬇️💦

Once it’s filled again, I’ll rebalance the water.

Between algae evictions, chemical magic, and CYA issues… The Pool Guy has been BUSY today! 😂

Never a day off when you own and operate your own business. 💜🤷‍♂️🤩

😒 Apparently the squatters came back… 😒

I had this one whooped last week. It was clean, clear, and looking perfect. So I was surprised this morning when I came around the corner and saw the algae trying to move back in. 🦠🏠

Turns out the new chlorinator I installed last week just wasn’t turned up quite enough. Chlorine dropped too low, and apparently that was an open invitation for the riff raff. 😂

That’s alright… I GOT THIS! 💪🧪😒🤦‍♂️

Me: “Alright, I’ll be by to take a look…”

Well, I believe I have located the problem. 🔥

Pretty sure the breaker isn’t supposed to have a giant melted hole in it.

Just another day in the life of The Pool Guy. 🏊‍♂️🔧

Don’t judge me… it was HOT today! 🥵😂

Heat advisory said 107° and The Pool Guy still had pools to clean. At some point, you quit worrying about what you look like and just start doing whatever it takes to survive. 😂

Yes, that is a towel on my head.
Yes, I worked like that.
No, I have no regrets. 🤣

🔥 107° heat advisory
🏊 Pools still gotta get cleaned
🧴 Sunscreen working overtime
🧖‍♂️ Towel officially part of the uniform

Good evening everyone!

I wanted to send out an update about some changes coming to The Pool Guy starting in September.

First, I want to say thank you! After nearly 15 years cleaning pools, I’ve been blessed to grow to over 40 regular pool clients this year. I truly appreciate everyone who has trusted me to take care of their pool and helped me grow the business to where it is today.

With that growth, I’ve reached the point where it’s becoming too much for me to personally handle weekly cleanings while also keeping up with repairs, equipment problems, and everything else that comes along with maintaining this many pools.

Back in June, I hired Levi to help with part of the route. He has done a great job and is looking for more opportunity to grow within the business. Starting in September, Levi will be handling the normal weekly pool cleaning and chemical maintenance for the entire route.
This will be spread across the weekdays.

Schedule changes: Saturday pools will move to Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday pools will stay on their normal days.

I want to make it clear that I’m not going anywhere! I will continue overseeing the business, and I encourage everyone to continue reaching out to me directly with any questions, problems, or concerns. I’ll also continue handling all repairs and equipment issues. This change will allow me to spend more time on those repairs, support Levi, take on additional customers, and continue growing the business.

Along with these changes, there will also be a pricing adjustment starting in September. This is due to rising operational costs.

All monthly full-service plans will be $200 per month.

All new customers who joined this year were already brought on at the $200 rate. This change simply brings my long-time customers in line with the current pricing. The $200 monthly service will continue to include your normal weekly cleaning and chemicals.

I know changes can take a little time to get used to, so please be patient with us as we transition into the new schedule. My goal with all of these changes is to continue growing The Pool Guy while making sure every customer still receives the level of service you’ve come to expect from me.

I sincerely appreciate your business, your trust, and your continued support. I couldn’t have grown The Pool Guy to where it is today without all of you!

Thank you,
Evan – The Pool Guy

Went outside with my manager, Beau 🐩, to check out this beautiful sunset tonight. 🌅

Welp… while we were admiring the view, I noticed the Pool Guy’s own pool was looking a little neglected. 🤦‍♂️😂

Apparently I’ve been so busy taking care of everybody else’s pools that mine decided to have an algae bloom.

So out came the test kit, the pole, and a little chemical magic. 🧪✨

Meanwhile, Beau stood there supervising the whole operation… clearly annoyed that management had allowed conditions to deteriorate this far. 😂

Even the Pool Guy’s pool needs the Pool Guy sometimes. 🤷‍♂️💦

Beautiful sunset though!
