Same color. Different wood. 🪵

Both of these samples feature Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C in Natural — but the finished look changes dramatically between Walnut and White Oak.

That’s because your wood species plays a major role in the final color. Its natural tone, grain, and character all influence how a finish will appear once applied.

Natural on Walnut creates a deeper, more muted look, while Natural on White Oak appears lighter and warmer.

It’s a great reminder: don’t choose a finish by the color name alone. See it on your wood species whenever possible.
