Accuracy is hard in a world of accumulated error.
Something as simple as 4 miter joints in material that's 5 1/2" wide 26" long and 1 3/4" thick can be quite an endeavor to get right, there is no cheating, on the first test pieces cut, the accumulated error across all 8 cuts added up to roughly 1/16 of an inch total that's only about .007 error per cut in the miter angle (actually when it was said and done .005)
The big question- why do I do this to myself?
